With so many sick days lately, even with the low energy, I was able to put in a couple of hours of sewing into my Spring Project… and it is growing…
Here are the first 3 rows of squares sewn together:
I took some old t-shirts and other fabric mementos I had, cut them into small pieces to add to the squares, here is a piece of a flowered shirt from the cruise we took with our good friends right after DR and I got married:
This Wall-E logo is from a toque I bought when the movie came out. It’s one of DR’s favourite movie, I had to include it. I added a patch of an alien, just ’cause:
These 2 squares are an old T-Shirt DR wasn’t wearing anymore. It was in my pile of gym clothes, which we all know I haven’t been in forever… Better on our quilt than collecting dust…
It’s definitely taking shape now, I’m happy with it. I’ll post more as it grows.

Festive and fun. How fab to see that before you turn in for the night.
I’m not generally a quilt enthusiast, but this one is pretty damn cool.
The robot patches are very cool. As is your hammerhead from below shot. I’m buying my husband a sewing machine for his b-day. any suggestions on a good model?
Thanks all! It will be the summer bedspread.
RR: Crazily enough, I got the Shark brand… It’s good for smaller project around the house, if you need it for bigger project, I would invest in a more complex machine… the place we took our one lesson to learn how to thread the machine and learn to sew a cushion at was swearing by the brand Bernina…
