At the end of the day, I really don't give a shit if they lose their receipt, if they don't show up in court when requested, if they get a parking ticket while paying a speeding ticket... but some of them have a wicked way of trapping you... I just know next week will be better... Maybe you should be in a different line of work. I have worked with "marginalized" people for 20 years. And even though I will never be rich or anything, I have the type of interaction you described every day and it keeps me from taking an AK47 into a crowd at the Eaton Centre. It makes your work day so pleasant to work with people who really appreciate all the little things in life we mock. And since every other aspect of public life is like your first example or worse as your blog describes so well, any grasp at humanity is enough to stop that trigger finger. Nice story.
