Day 36 – A Tentative Agreement Is Reached!
Here I was at 3:30pm, eating up every word Ann Dembinski was saying, you could tell by the little smile on her face that it was going to be good news.
WE HAVE A TENTATIVE DEAL.
It’s such great news to finally see the end of this. Details will be released to the membership, then to the media… but I think every local 79 and local 416 members will be very happy and are all looking forward to go back to work.
Looks like members will get to vote on Wednesday with Thursday as possible first day back to work. Details will be released to employees at City of Toronto website.

Yihaaaa !
Woohoo!!!!
To quote my fave soundbite in all this:
“GET OUT OF MY WAAAAY!”
ROCKIN!
Congrats! I know it hasn’t been voted on yet, but fingers crossed.
Glad there’s finally some relief in sight.
From what I’m hearing it may not be RTW till Tuesday (long weekend Monday) we’ll see though.
Elise, Marianne P., mt, Sean: Yeah, huge sigh of relief. First good news since June 23rd.
DR: That shriek, overplayed on the local news station, will remain my favourite sound bite of the strike indeed.
William: Yeah, it looks like some Local 416 members might go back before the weekend, but the Local 79 members will most likely start again by next Tuesday.
