Not wanting to face too much reality and needing more Disney magic, we decided to go see UP in 3D tonight and what a good decision that was.

I don’t think I’ve ever cried within the first 4 minutes of a movie before. Maybe I’m just too sad to be back in Toronto, maybe they just did a real amazing job with the movie. Regardless, go see this movie and bring 3 or 4 tissues. At least.

Pixar is re-teaching Disney how to make a great animated film. I’m glad they’re still teamed up but pretty soon Pixar will leave them behind to struggle again (“Meet The Robinsons” anyone?)
I was blubbering twice in that movie. Brilliant!
It makes me terribly sad that conventional, hand-drawn animated films aren’t being made anymore…watched Secret of Nimh over the weekend and realized how good conventional animation has the potential to be.
Dying to see Up, though…still recovering from the expensive move.
NIMH?! Holy crap we dissected that movie in animation history class alongside “Pete’s Dragon” as a lesson how not to piss off a Disney animator. Bluth always had great ideas, but they were a bit too adult for the 8 to 12 year old crowd.
Dont worry, Disney is going to release at least two more classically animated movies. They’re not done yet.
Well, Disney is listening, they have 3 animated movies coming out in the next 2 years that are hand-drawn… The Princess and The Frog which looks really funny, and then Rapunzel which I haven’t seen anything more than the poster (looks great too) and a feature with Winnie The Pooh… so it should be ok
