Today was just an absolute gorgeous one outside, not a cloud in the sky.
The Mailman called early this morning and asked if I felt like a trek in the beautiful Riverdale Park and Don Valley trails… turns out I did.
These trails are popular with cyclists, joggers and walkers alike, but also seems a favourite of our local homeless wintering downtwon Toronto. We found a couple of “winter camps” left unattended during the warmer days:
AND SOME OF ITS ART TOO:
FURTHER ALONG:

GARBAGE CAN AND GARBAGE CAN ON WHEELS

AAAAAAH! SCARY WINDOW TREATMENT

REMNANT OF AN OLD TRAIN STATION

BACK ON THE TRAIL AFTER A GREAT KIT-KAT BLIZZARD AT DAIRY QUEEN… OH YEAH, YUM!

SAME POND, BUT NOT A TURTLE RELATIVE.

I’D MAKE THE ROOM ON TOP MY BATHROOM

I went to my first Red WIngs Playoff Game Saturday and pulled up into a local legendary “dive bar” on the walk to the arena. The Club Sandwich was enormous as expected, so I just had half.
I asked for a box and put the second half sammi inside, along with most of my fries.
After walking half a block farther toward the JLA, there was a guy my age shaking a wax cup full of coins. I sat down next to him and asked if he was hungry.
This was the exchange:
Him: Oh yes.
Me: Here’s half a sandwich and some fries. I didn’t touch any of it.
Him: Don’t worry about that.
Me: Take care of yourself.
Him: Thanks a lot. I wish there were more people like you.
Me: Just take care of yourself. You have talents the world has never seen.
Him: Peace.
Me: Peace.
Will it change the world? No. Maybe. Maybe no. But it was a moment between two people who wouldn’t normally cross paths. This globe needs more moments like that. Nobody wants to be a Crack junkie. Nobody wants to lose their home to a sub-prime mortgage. Compassion is never out of style.
That said, bad graffiti just pretty much sucks!
I know the explanation for the first photo:

Sharkboy, those pictures are fantastic. Really amazing. The clarity of the flower just blows me away, and the turtle. Just gorgeous! Good job.
