[...] Sharkboy’s post of the Cure swinging a camera around all crazy like made me think of one camera effect back in the MTV era that I really enjoyed. A camera is mounted onto an arc and flipped over the actors, but with the arc supports outside the frame, giving a smooth ride down bizarre perspective street. I saw them in concert when they toured for “Head on the Door”. It was an awesome show.
My favorite Cure song from that period is “Charlotte Sometimes” tho. Very dark and dreamy and slightly disturbing.
This was my favourite song by The Cure for a long time… I memorized all the lyrics before I even knew how to speak English. My mom would always tell my sister and I that Robert Smith sounded like he was singing with a cookie in his mouth hehe
Strap a camera on a freak and bang! Instant MTV hit!
This was a fave of mine too. I forgot about the ubergoth cute socks.
Robert Smith is the ultimate in 1980s cool. If I wasn’t listening to Prince, I had the Cure cassette on.
