The weekend started sort of early for us: we had Da and Old Audio Dude over for dinner on Thursday night in exchange for help with our home theatre sound system, which he was able to do quickly as he’s a pro. We’re happy! We can now actually hear the surround sound when watching tv or dvd’s through the PVR we purchased 11 months ago… Thnx Old Audio Dude. Oh yeah, for dinner DR made this mexican delicassy:

On Friday, DR and I met after work at Eaton Centre and booked our next vacation. We could book it all ourselves online of course, but we do like this pocket bear guy that works at Flight Centre and don’t mind giving him the business… So it’s official, we’re going out west in March via:

(more about the itinerary later)
Then it was a quick walk to Da’s so we could borrow his car one more time to go get a new TV stand at Ikea, we decided on the Storemark:

We brought it home, built it, transferred the entire media from the old stand to the new one, WITHOUT unplugging any of Old Audio Dude’s handy work, which turned out to be a tad difficult but DR is a wiz so it was all good.
On Saturday, we met Scoundrel and Spudd and were treated to breakfast at The Beacher Cafe in the Beaches:

And I had these delicious french toasts:

It was definitely good to spend the time with these gents, and of course with Scoundrel around, you just laugh and laugh. I texted them “thank you” while on the streetcar ride back home and got a call back instead of a text. He started talking and of course I started laughing out loud with other passengers’ eyes on me, probably thinking I was some kind of a whack job.
On Saturday evening, our good friend Normlr came over for dinner and DR made pork goodness in in a wok:

And I made this fancy-smancy sharkcake:

After dinner, the boys played games on Wii and I sort of passed out on the couch for a bit… but before going home that night, Normlr was kind enough to give me the gift of RAM… I doubled the amount of it on my iMac and couldn’t be happier. I can now open Photoshop, email and internet without having to go make tea while the applications open.. YEH… and thank you once again.
Sunday, we got up in time to watch Coronation Street and went to get breaky at Tim Hortons and FOR ONCE I didn’t have anything to complain about… the service was fast and courteous, we didn’t have to repeat anything… I had to look around to make sure I wasn’t at Starbucks…
Then we went to the Zombie walk:

For the entire picturial, please go to DR’s flickr stream!
After rushing home to take the make-up off and shower, we made our way to meet the Xboys (I call them that because they are boys and they are both avid XBox 360 players) at the movie theatre to watch this gem:

The movie was great, the company was excellent.
Then I was exhausted, I wrote this post when I got home and went to bed… now it’s Monday and I have to go to work… blargh!
Oh! And we haven’t had a working phone since Friday… I had another battle with Rogers Home Phone #52 and I’m giving them one last chance. They are coming over tonight to fix it for the last time.

You watched Coronation St??? Do you get the British soap over there or is it something else??
you guys are “Coroners” haha.
zombie coroners?
The real Coronation Street, with Tracy Barlow and all… lol. They play a recap of all 5 episodes on Sunday morning here, only, we’re 10 months behind… Tracy was just thrown in jail for Charlie’s murder.
It’s our guilty pleasure and has been a Sunday morning tradition since Ted and I met.
fff18, you should’ve seen some of those zombies yesterday…
You mentioned me. ME. OH GOD, ME! AH NEED A TISSUE FOR MUH PANTS! I had a blast too. You guys are great. Thanks for a lovely morning. I think we should do it again next Sat morning. What do you say??????
Sure thing, but you guys have to come here this time.. lol… and our turn to treat.
