I also agree that we shouldn't have been expecting change back for a silly quarter... What got me is that she didn't even flinch, just took it without even looking at DR or thanking him... Like, they forget that maybe it'd be good to make sure your shopping cart isn't in the middle of the aisle blocking everyone behind you before stopping to browse different brands of bread crumbs for 10 minutes. But for the record, I think it's sorta weird that you expected change in return for the quarter. An enthusiastic thank you is pretty much required, but for small change like that, fishing for change that she may or may not have even had wouldn't be something I'd expect.
